South Jersey Man, 20, Killed In Weekend Shooting: Prosecutor

A 20-year-old man from Camden was killed in a weekend shooting, authorities said.

On Saturday, Jan. 13, at about 6:30 p.m., Camden County police received a ShotSpotter activation for gunfire in the 800 block of Grant Street in Camden, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

Police found Joel Maldonado suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, they said. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 7:15 p.m.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
